Garden Update: May 3rd, 2013 (video)

A Garden Quickie. Hello. I’ve finally gotten around to posting a quick update about the garden. Being ‘quick’ I mean about a 10 minute video of me rambling on about the plants and how they are doing etc. Again, this [...]

Site News: A slow transformation – May 13th, 2013

Just like the plants I’m tending to, this site is also slowly transforming. As you may (or may not) have noticed, a new theme/design went up over the weekend! I’m happy to have finally done this, as I was hoping to find a theme with 3 coulumns instead of only two, plus the same features of the Compatica theme that I had enjoyed. Thankfully, I found the FlowersTheme on Themepix.com. After a few alterations, like changing the color scheme slightly and learning out how to edit the header.php, I finally was able to add the Categories to the top navigation menu instead of Pages.

Hey, I’m still a WordPress noob, so maybe I’ll go back to Pages instead of Categories at a later time, but for now, I’m happy with what is coming along. Just hang in there as I add more categories for relevant sections. Examples include me adding a Projects section where i can showcase some of my projects, such as Crafting (stonework), Construction (Joey cat shack, greenhouses), and probably my past digital works such as wallpapers etc.

So that is what’s in store for the future. More sections to explore and read. All of the content from the past is still there, you just gotta dig around for it a bit at this time, but it will be neatly organized and put in its proper place… eventually. So yea, basically I’m just giving a heads-up to more stuff being added in the coming weeks. Theme probably won’t change, I like it, but again, more stuff being added! I’ll happily consider any suggestions people may have, so feel free to leave a comment here. Thanks again to any (faithful?) visitors.

P.S. I’ve added a stream that usually is on most of the time. It happens to mainly be pointed at my garden during the day, but changes to Joey Cat’s mouse hunting spot in the evenings. Either Joey hunting mice or me streaming my gameplay, one of the two happens at night, if at all. Anyways, see ya laters!

Bye Tomatoes – Garden Update: May 12th, 2013

Bye tomatoes…

Yes, today I am updating about my garden. Sadly, I had to get rid of a few more tomato plants. The rest of the plants are doing pretty well. The tomatoes… they are having trouble becoming acclimated to the extreme variances in temperature this year. The Coriander (Cilantro) is doing amazing, as are the Basil plants. If you couldn’t tell by the opening image, my not-so-little Grey Dwarf Pea plant is doing wonderful! I named it Tangela, after the Pokemon.

A Garden Quickie.

Hello. I’ve finally gotten around to posting a quick update about the garden. Being ‘quick’ I mean about a 10 minute video of me rambling on about the plants and how they are doing etc. Again, this is a quick update, so it’s not the longest or prettiest of updates. Once spring finally kick in, the garden should just take off! Hopefully after this weekend, we’ll have nice weather from here on out, and then I can start on making a raised bed or two. Anyways, on to the video!

Now that I have thoroughly raged and gotten a good portion of my frustrations out from the last 5 days, I am hoping I am close to being sane once again. I don’t think I was ever really was there fully, but as close as can be seems to work well. That said, I will be playing around with the site and themes and other stuff. Hopefully, things won’t go all wonky and disarray, so this is a heads-up, or warning if you’d prefer.

The main focus will be on gardening, but I am still unsure of the situation, so things are kind of touch and go, with no concrete plan(t)s laid out. They will kind of change as things go along. Today, it snowed again with a good few inches. Lots of slush and prolonging winter. My tomatoes needs to be planted outdoors or in a 5 gallon bucket. I’ve got no funds to purchase soil for the time being, so things are on hold. Keep your fingers crossed.

Here is to trying to bury all that rubbish that happened over the last 1-2 weeks. I’d like to just remove the posts, but they are a part of my history, no matter how ugly it may seem. So instead, I plan to just throw a bunch of posts up to push that all down and back into the archives. I’ll be using that as a guide when I start to organize my stuff a bit better, so hopefully better organized pages and sections will begin to sprout up soon.

Garden Update: April 7th, 2013 (unfinished)

Garden Update

*** NOTE *** This is an unfinished post. it was meant to be posted on Sunday, Apr. 7th, but things didn’t go according to plan. Apologies. I will try to keep up on weekly, Sunday garden updates, regardless. thanks for your understanding. Over the last week, my plants have done very well. Overall, there was a couple of small mishaps, but nothing too severe. I do forget that plants are pretty hearty creatures and can bounce back, give the proper conditions. I think cold temps still do a number on most plants. The tomatoes are growing fast, with a cherry tomato plant doing the best of the bunch. You can check out the images and see how the plants are doing!

Garden Update: March 28, 2013 – New Lights

Garden Update

Yesterday I managed to get another 4′ foot light for my plants! I grabbed a set of T8 32 watt 6500k bulbs. I have a set of T12 40watt 5000k, but I want another set of the T8′s 6500k. If you remember that ‘fallen heroes‘ picture of the plants I didn’t have room for, then i should update you on the status of those. I kept the tomatoes but chopped the two pea plants. I left the roots, so maybe they will grow back a 3rd time! Anyways, not much else to say, aside from buying the items and setting things up, so I’ll leave you with these fresh images. Enjoy!
